Bloomington, Indiana –Youngsters looking for a place to hold a birthday party or special outing can now plan a “Spa” retreat for friends and families at Les Champs Elysees, Aveda salon in downtown Bloomington, starting February 1, 2009.
“We have a lot of parents requesting spa treatments for their teens and younger kids, and we’ve researched similar programs around the Midwest and it’s becoming a popular thing to do,” says Margarete Disque, owner of the two, local Aveda salons.
“Young women love to pattern their activities after their moms and we can do daughter/mother, side-by-side pedicures, manicures, specially designed facials and massage, or take in a whole party of youngsters and host a party,” she added. “Of course, while the kids are there, we offer the parents a special discounted treatment, too.
Recently Les Champs Elysees added a new spa area to their salon allowing them to host the kids’ treatments in a separate, private facility. As part of this new program, the salon has stocked special foot and hand soaks that look and smell like ice cream and there are special nail colors that are attractive to youth.
“KidzSpa,” as the program is called, has a variety of options including full service pedicure and manicures with a whole range of treatments ranging from $15 to $100 per child. Or, a complete party can be held and includes special gifts for attendees.
“While this is a terrific and affordable outing for a mother and daughter or a group, we spend a lot of time talking to young girls about nail health and skin care and that’s helpful as then get older,” Disque added. “Aveda products are all natural and completely avoid harsh additives or chemicals and that is very important while treating young, sensitive skin.”
Kidzspa will be offered at the salon on Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoon by appointment. For more information on “KidzSpa” or to book an appointment, contact Les Champs Elysees Salon & Spa at 333-5030.
